Q: Are airfare and other aspects of travel to and from the clinic included in the price of the clinic?
A: No, cost of airfare and other related travel costs are the responsibility of the attendee and/or his/her agency.
Q: Does the clinic provide transportation between General Mitchell International Airport (MKE) and the host hotel?
A: If needed the clinic will arrange for and/or provide transportation to and from General Mitchell International Airport (MKE) although we do ask that you provide us with advance notice of such needs so that we can make the necessary arrangements.
Q: Are all meals included?
A: If you are staying at the host hotel two (2) breakfast meals are included for each room. On Thursday, Friday, and Saturday lunches are provided at the academy for all attendee's. Evening meals are the responsibility of the attendee. For those not staying at the host hotel, breakfasts will also be the responsibility of the attendee.
Q: Are there any special events during the clinic?
A: Thursday evening there is a meet a greet at a local bar and restaurant, beverage and food are normally the responsibility of the attendee. Friday evening Attendee's and Instructors present the colors at a Milwaukee Brewers game and then stay to enjoy the game. A single ticket for the game is included in the cost of each registration.
Q: Can we bring our colors?
A: We absolutely encourage attendee's to bring their all their flags including the United States flag. Attendee's will be given the opportunity to carry their colors on the field at the Milwaukee Brewers game. We ask that you please bring a harness for each of the flags you brought. We also encourage you to bring pike poles and axes as well.
Q: What day should attendee's plan to arrive?
A: We recommend that attendee's not residing locally arrive by mid evening on Wednesday as the clinic starts promptly at 0900 on Thursday.
Q: Can extra Brewers tickets be purchased?
A: Of course, extras tickets for the game can be purchased though our Finance and Registration Coordinator by completing the "Extras Order Form".
Q: Can extra t-shirts be purchased?
A: Of course, extra t-shirts can be purchased by using the "Extra Order Form".
Q: What is typically served for lunch during the clinic?
A: Each year varies, we have had meals catered by Carrabbas Italian Grill, Ma Ma Mia's Italian Restaurant, Grill out provided by Brew City F.O.O.L.S., a pig roast provided by a member of the Greater Milwaukee Fire and Police Pipes and Drums and a food truck we a variety of items.
Q: What is the dress code for the clinic?
A: We train as we work. In short this means that we train in the same uniform that we would be wearing for official honor guard activities. For 90% of the clinic we require our attendee's to be in their dress uniform. Occasionally, attendee's are permitted to attend classroom portions in appropriate civilian attire. The clinic instructor staff will provide uniform of the day information at the end of each day for the following day.
Q: If my department does not currently have an honor guard or I am not currently on the honor guard at my department can I still attend you clinic?
A: Absolutely, any member of an emergency services agency is welcome to attend.
